Geralt of Rivea has been a staple of modern gaming for as long as we can remember. However, ever since the Game of the year outing in 2015, The Witcher as a series has gone from strength to strength, captivating audiences with its vast and rich world.
The success of the game series warranted a live-action Netflix series and in turn, the success of this show seem to entice more casual players to play the game. In short, it’s been a very successful few years for Geralt and the gang.
So with that in mind, it seems that CD Projekt Red wants to expand their horizons and tighten their grip on the mobile gaming market. Yes, the series does have the fabulous card game Gwent batting in this category. However, it seems that The Witcher will take inspiration from games like Pokémon: Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite with the new release, The Witcher: Monster Slayer.
Another AR Adventure
Much like the aforementioned games, Monster Slayer will use AR technology to combine real-world locations and the fantastical creatures of The Witcher series. Players will have to scour the local area for the fearsome creatures that Geralt has dealt with in the pursuit of coin. The concept is very similar to that of Pokémon Go. However, instead of capturing these creatures, you will battle them by engaging in combat and slaying the beasts to complete challenges.
