What is Final Fantasy Tactics?
Final Fantasy Tactics is a popular 1997 game for the PlayStation. The game was created by Yasumi Matsuno, and it’s considered one of the best games in the series and a classic for strategy RPG fans. It takes place in an alternate world where humans, elves, dwarves, mages, and other creatures battle together against evil forces that threaten their lands .
Players take control of Ramza Beoulve, who is part of a clan not originally from Ivalice. Delita Hyral is also featured as the protagonist who once serves under Ramza. Players can create their own custom army with different types of units to defeat enemies. The game features a job system where players can have characters switch between different jobs. For example, you could have an archer-wizard or a thief-assassin. The world is composed of missions for you to complete, which generally involves killing enemies or protecting allies.
Why the game is so popular?
Final Fantasy Tactics has enjoyed commercial success since its release in 1997. The game has won many awards, including the PlayStation Awards of 1998 for User’s Choice and Best RPG. The game has inspired multiple manga’s, novels, and other games set within the world of Ivalice. It also served as inspiration for Final Fantasy XIV.
The original release date of 1997
Final Fantasy Tactics was first released on PlayStation in Japan on April the 20th, 1997. The game was published by Square Enix and directed by Yasumi Matsuno. It’s been confirmed as a main entry for the Final Fantasy series as it features Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII as a special guest character. The game was later ported to PlayStation Portable in 2006. A companion game called Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was also released for Game Boy Advance that same year.

The soundtrack will be completely redone by original composer Hitoshi Sakimoto as well as Nobuo Uematsu (the Father of Video Game Music). There are plans to include an extra story chapter that was planned but never released for the original 1997 PlayStation release.
Some new scenes and characters may be added to this new story chapter. There is currently no confirmed date for when this remake will be released. The main protagonist, Ramza Beoulve, is voiced by Daisuke Ono. The protagonist, Delita Hyral, is voiced by Kenichi Suzumura. Ovelia Atkascha is voiced by Sora Amamiya. Solomon Mutswa is voiced by Yuki Kaji.
Plans for an extra story chapter, new scenes, and characters to be added to this new story chapter
It’s been heard that there are plans for an extra story chapter, new scenes, and characters to be added. If I’m not mistaken, I don’t think this game has generated any new content in the past few years outside of the original release. It will be interesting to see how they create these new missions.
Our thoughts on the remake
The game takes place in Ivalice, which also appears as ground zero for many of Square Enix’s most popular role-playing games like Final Fantasy XII. This Tactical RPG follows Ramza Beoulve – who has just lost everything that makes him human…except his humanity itself.
He will become an outlaw because there are some things worth fighting for, even if they mean giving up everything else! Final Fantasy Tactics is a tough game at first, with battles against overwhelming odds and powerful foes. By the time you’ve finished your journey through Riovanes Castle, though, it’s just too easy! The player will need to repeatedly fight random battles in order for story missions to finish.
However, it is not mandatory to complete them all. But once they do, there really isn’t anything left standing between themselves and whatever their next destination may be. We are really excited for the next remastered iteration of Final Fantasy Tactics. The Reddit community has already made its mark, and it’s very likely going to be a massive nostalgia hit for the old gamers when FFT finally releases! Ah, the good old days!
Final Fantasy Tactics was first released on PlayStation in 1997 and have yet to make it to certain countries as Square Enix opted to release Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions as the localized version instead. Many fans still refer to the game by its Japanese name of ‘Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions’ and hold out hope that it will be remade here in the future.
